UNRAVEL NYLON SHOOT

This shoot shows the looks from the Unravel runway in more detail. The first look ties two models together using cut-up pantyhose to symbolize the constraint that nylon leggings brought into the workplace giving a suffocating, inescapable factor. The second uses nylon fabric braided together to represent army ropes that were made from nylon in WW2 giving a similar constraining effect. The fourth look also relates to the military’s use of nylon, symbolizing a parachute. The third look shows the overuse of nylon today with athletic wear patch-worked to show the abundance of this textile being disposed in landfills.
